Berlin based artist Schlemme paints montages of internet advertisements, his own photographs and extracts from catalogues, using the aesthetic appearance of these images to create links and content between them.
His paintings reflect the cultural importance of advertising and its symbols, playing with the notion that they have become icons to us, and then reduces them to series of shapes and colours.
Schlemme has exhibited widely throughout Europe, and his work features in collections such as Deutsche Bank, Berlinishe Galerie and the Civic Collection of Madrid.
